The gameboy Seiken Densetsu (lit.
Legend of the Holy Sword) was a fair-to-middling Zelda clone with some predictable plot development and really great music. Its sequel, Secret of Mana, is a SNES game with some deepening of the gameplay elements and story, and some of the most killer music ever produced for a SNES cart.
The sequel to that game has never been released in the States, it's known as Seiken Densetsu 3. It's one of the three games in Seiken Densetsu collection which is supposed to be out this fall, but no one is sure if it'll come stateside or not.
